The AtruhaTeX guide

Organize and recover a project

Keep source files together, use local history, and export a portable copy.

About this guide

These instructions describe the desktop application and its configured services. For the hosted browser editor, start with the AtruhaTeX Web guides above. Desktop menu names and service settings may differ from Web.

Open the whole folder

Choose Open Folder to work with the project’s chapters, figures, and bibliography together. Keep a main document that includes the chapter files. A project created from Template Library records its reviewed main file in .atruhatex.json. The generic thesis starter uses a main.tex file and separate introduction and methods chapters.

Compare and restore a version

Open Version history at the far right of the Compile row. Opening, saving, and paused edits create local snapshots; add a named version at a useful milestone. Select a version, compare it with the current source, and restore only after reviewing the difference. Restoration creates an unsaved, undoable edit and first saves a recovery snapshot.

History is stored on this device and has retention limits. Clearing app data also clears local history. Export project backups for portable recovery.

Export a reviewed source ZIP

Use the project archive controls to review the current project export. Inspect the included files and any omitted paths before choosing Export reviewed source ZIP. Save the archive outside the working folder. A source ZIP carries the reviewed project files; account history and comments are not included in source archives.

Recover without replacing current work

Settings → Files → On startup can restore the previous workspace after a clean shutdown; the default is Welcome. Unsaved crash-recovery documents use their separate Restore action. Settings → Storage & recovery also exposes locally retained service copies without requiring sign-in. Open recovered text as independent unsaved files, review it, and save it deliberately. Binary assets from service recovery remain in the export.
