The AtruhaTeX guide
Install and check your tools
Prepare the desktop app and a TeX distribution before your first compile.
About this guide
These instructions describe the desktop application and its configured services. For the hosted browser editor, start with the AtruhaTeX Web guides above. Desktop menu names and service settings may differ from Web.
Choose an available package
Open Downloads and select a package that explicitly matches your operating system and architecture. Follow the installation notes accompanying that exact package. A platform listed as unavailable does not have a downloadable build here. Release labels and numeric installer versions identify different things; check the release information before replacing an existing installation.
The current label is Pi(2), meaning the digits 3.1. The available Windows package is 1.0.1 build 4, published 7 October, and still displays Pi 3.1. The workspace preview shows the newer Looks v1 interface in development; that interface is not included in this download.
Install a TeX distribution
AtruhaTeX uses a separately installed TeX distribution to produce PDFs. Install the distribution and the packages required by your document. Arabic projects normally need XeLaTeX or LuaLaTeX, language packages, and an Arabic font. The app’s PDF viewer does not replace a TeX compiler. Packaged authoring helpers also do not include a complete TeX distribution.
This installation guide covers the desktop application. Source/Visual editing and table/TikZ authoring are also available in AtruhaTeX Web; use the Web guides for the hosted workspace.
Check the installation
Launch AtruhaTeX and open Settings → About to inspect available tools. For a starter project, open File → Template Library, select a template, and use Check dependencies. Resolve unavailable or unverified requirements before compiling. The Arabic report starter identifies its font and language requirements explicitly.
Make a first compile
Create a small local document using the First document guide. Save it, choose its engine from the Compile menu, and select Compile. Review any native execution-permission dialog for the project you opened. A successful run produces a PDF in the preview. If it fails, read Issues and the compiler log before changing the document.
Choose the workspace appearance
In the newer development interface, open Settings → Appearance. Application look offers AtruhaTeX Looks v1 and the original Looks v0.5; Theme separately selects light, dark, or the system setting. Looks v1 also offers accent and main-color presets or a custom color. Press Apply to save. Changing appearance preserves open documents and does not change the fonts or layout of the compiled publication.
